Summer Newsletter

SUSTAINING THE ARTS IN OUR REGION

A logo for "Sierra 7 Arts Alliance" is superimposed on a watercolor background of abstract, flowing shapes in muted earth tones.

Dear artists and supporters of the Arts-

Welcome to our Summer newsletter!

The above graphic of a meandering river represents the connections between the seven counties, Inyo, Mono, Alpine, Mariposa, Calaveras, Amador and Tuolumne, which comprise the participating organizations in the Sierra 7 Arts Alliance From Here to There traveling art exhibit. This year-long process was created in part to build meaningful networks of support and shared resources. We have been most excited about the possibilities of working with each other across the seven counties to be able to extend and build a more connected, creative economy "close to home."

We hope you take the opportunity to see some truly exquisite, meaningful art and to enjoy one or more of the many wonderful events we’ll be hosting for the From Here to There exhibit from August 21st to September 18th at Chakachi-no Learning Center in downtown Jamestown! Check out the schedule below in our Summer Activities section. All events, workshops and classes are free and open to the public; workshops and classes with limited size will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

In addition, we just completed our Summer Arts Camp at Columbia Community College and have been meeting regularly with a dedicated group of staff, board and community members to update our mission, vision and more. It’s an exciting and inspiring process which we intend to announce fully in the fall! We are also continuing to water the seeds of the creative economy here in Tuolumne County. With our popular ReVamp Creative Reuse store (21 N. Washington) and the #91 Collective offering classes and gallery space (91 N. Washington), along with some other fantastic upcoming spaces, our Sonora cultural district is growing steadily!

with gratitude and excitement,
the Tuolumne County Arts Alliance team
